russia launches new fake about the “vulnerability of Ukraine’s rear areas”

russia has launched another AI-generated fake using the image of a “Ukrainian soldier.”

▫️ A video allegedly filmed in Kharkiv region is circulating on social media. It shows a man in military uniform demonstrating a destroyed SUV. He emotionally complains that russian drones are allegedly attacking vehicles as far as 90 kilometers from the front line. In the video, the character pretends to be surprised and asks, “What kind of drones do the russians have?” that can freely reach so deep into Ukraine’s rear areas.

In reality, the speaker in the video was generated using artificial intelligence. This was confirmed by an analysis of the recording using specialized content-verification services designed to detect signs of AI generation.

▫️ This video is another element of russia’s information operation aimed at creating the perception of the alleged “vulnerability” of Ukraine’s rear areas.

The enemy’s goal is to sow fear among civilians and military personnel, create the illusion of complete russian fire control over roads in the rear, and undermine the morale and psychological state of Ukrainian society.
