Fake about “20,000 Ukrainian deserters in France”
russian propaganda resources have spread a fake about the alleged mass desertion of Ukrainian soldiers during treatment abroad.
The reports claim that “every third soldier who underwent treatment in France did not return to Ukraine”, and the total number of such cases allegedly exceeds 20,000. The source is named as the French publication Le Point.
In fact, there is no such material on Le Point’s resources. Similar “data” have not been published by other authoritative international media or official sources. This information is completely fabricated.
The fake was first published through a network of russian Telegram channels, which systematically spread disinformation about Ukraine. After that, it was picked up by propaganda resources, presenting the fabricated information as news from a foreign source.
The purpose of such disinformation is to discredit international aid to Ukraine, as well as to demoralize Ukrainian society by creating an image of “mass desertion”.
