Key Theses of Volodymyr Zelenskyy During His Visit to Germany
The main messages from the conversation between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz with the media:
▫️Germany is a tangible leader in supporting Ukraine. It is Germany that is number one in Europe.
▫️Our intelligence services clearly know that russia does not plan to reduce its destabilizing activities against Ukraine and all of Europe.
▫️Ukraine is grateful to the Chancellor and the German government for today’s agreements. There are 10 documents that have already been signed. These are agreements of various levels.
▫️The agreement with Germany on air defense is one of the most urgent for Ukraine. Ukraine is separately grateful for this.
▫️It is important that there be a clear and unblocked movement towards Ukraine’s membership in the EU.
▫️Ukraine has proposed to Germany a bilateral agreement on drones, the Drone Deal, and our experience can be integrated into the European security system.
▫️There is already joint arms production with Germany.
▫️The war must end, and russia must hear this signal and understand that it is necessary to make this choice in favor of peace. That’s why sanctions should remain in force and the pressure should continue.
▫️Most of the weapons that Ukraine uses for various operations – long-range strikes, on the battlefield, air defense – are produced in Ukraine today.
▫️Europe with Ukraine will produce anti-ballistic systems, but until this happens, Ukraine needs the PURL program.
▫️By the end of April, the “Druzhba” pipeline will be repaired and will be operational.
▫️Germany, as the largest donor to Ukraine, should be present at the negotiating table.
