While Donetsk remains without water, russia is constructing wells in Africa
russian propaganda proudly reports on a “humanitarian project” in the Republic of Congo, where, with the participation of russian organizers in Brazzaville, several drinking water wells were drilled. Propagandists emphasize that thanks to this, more than 300,000 people will have access to free water.
While russian specialists are thinking about water for Africans, the water issue in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine remains unresolved. In Donetsk and other cities in the TOT, people have been living for years under strict water supply restrictions. Residents are forced to stand in lines for water trucks, stock up on technical water, or install expensive tanks in their apartments at their own expense.
Despite the large-scale humanitarian problem, the russian authorities are in no hurry to invest resources in restoring infrastructure in the TOT, even though their actions caused the destruction or degradation of water supply systems. Instead, projects in Africa become a convenient tool for propaganda and promoting russian interests.
The center also reported that the kremlin continues to spend huge amounts on loans to “friendly countries,” while the population of the russian federation and the TOT are forced to economize even on food due to the war.
