▫️ For the holidays, russian schoolchildren received an updated list of “patriotic books” for extracurricular reading, issued under the personal order of vladimir putin.
The overwhelming majority of these works are openly militaristic, celebrating the conquests of the russian empire, “great generals of Holy Rus,” the “great patriotic war,” and so on.
▫️ A separate block is dedicated to the so-called “Z-literature,” which glorifies and justifies the war against Ukraine. Among such literature are works titled “torch of novorossiya,” “heroes of the donbas,” “resurrected in the third world war,” and others. the list also includes books promoting the participation of children and teenagers in the war, such as “war 16+,” “children’s book of war,” and so on.
The imposition of “Z-literature” on children is part of russia’s deliberate campaign to militarize schoolchildren, with the primary goal of raising an obedient generation of soldiers ready to fight in new imperialist wars on orders from kremlin.
