An employee of the “russian house” was arrested in Kyrgyzstan
In Kyrgyzstan, an employee of the “russian house” in the city of Osh was detained on suspicion of recruiting mercenaries.
▫️A staff member of the Osh city administration was also arrested on suspicion of committing a similar offense. Local media report that the suspects may have been recruiting individuals to take part in the war against Ukraine.
As the Center has repeatedly noted, “russian houses,” organized by the russian state agency Rossotrudnichestvo, are presented as centers promoting the russian language and culture abroad. However, in reality, culture is merely a cover for spreading propaganda and conducting disinformation operations aimed at expanding the Kremlin’s influence beyond russia.
The true nature of the “russian houses” is becoming increasingly evident to many countries, which are taking measures to limit their influence. This year, “russian houses” were shut down in Moldova and Azerbaijan.
