Why the kremlin brought up old fake about Ukrainian “dirty bomb”

russian propaganda is once again spreading false claims about Ukraine’s alleged attempts to create a “dirty nuclear bomb.”

The enemy has repeatedly voiced such baseless accusations since 2022. Once again, dmitry medvedev has joined the campaign, suggesting that Ukraine has the capability to produce such a bomb quickly.

The absurdity of these claims is well-known and has been thoroughly debunked, including by international nuclear safety authorities. Ukraine gave up the world’s third-largest nuclear arsenal in 1994, signing the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, and has consistently adhered to its obligations.

By recycling this fake, the kremlin seeks to justify its war of aggression against Ukraine and deflect attention from its own war crimes on Ukrainian soil. However, these attempts are entirely futile.

Furthermore, the continued spread of such claims could signal that russia is planning a provocation or terrorist attack, with the intent of blaming Ukraine.
