How kremlin cultivates war among young people
According to russian media, in 2024, more than 200,000 military-patriotic events were organized in russian kindergartens, including activities like weaving camouflage nets and writing letters to soldiers at the front.
These events coincide with national holidays such as May 9 (Victory Day) and February 23 (Defender of the Fatherland Day), as well as propaganda-driven dates like the “day of Crimea’s reunification” and the “day of remembrance for victims of the war in Donbas.” Through initiatives like “Letter to a soldier” and “We don’t abandon our own,” the government is actively instilling military values in younger generations.
These actions highlight the kremlin’s strategy aimed at fostering children’s readiness for military service, ensuring a continuous supply of recruits for the army.
Previously, the Center described how russia is militarizing children and preparing them for future participation in in the war through the Zarnitsa 2.0 project.
