Why russia wants to cut the length of school and university education

◽️ russian propaganda is promoting an initiative by vladimir putin’s aide and former minister of culture, vladimir medinsky, to shorten the time students spend in school.

◽️ medinsky claims that spending 11 years in school is an “unacceptable luxury”, and that young people should start vocational training sooner.

◽️ While this is being framed as a way to help the younger generation and adapt to modern needs, the real motive is likely to save money to fund the ongoing war effort.

◽️ The Center previously reported (https://t.me/TheCenterforCounteringDisinfo/7677) that in 2025 russia plans to significantly boost spending on defense and internal security, while cutting back on social programs, including education of russian citizens.

A less educated population also helps the kremlin spread propaganda more effectively and makes it easier to recruit young people into the military for future conflicts.
