Main economic forum of russia welcomed guests with an internet outage
The first day of the st. petersburg international economic forum, the kremlin’s main image showcase for foreigners, began with a massive mobile internet outage in Saint Petersburg.
Residents cannot open websites, apps do not work, and even resources from so-called white lists function unstably. With each passing hour, more and more complaints about internet interruptions are coming in.
The residents of st. petersburg themselves expect that full connectivity will not be restored for at least three more days, as putin is arriving at the forum tomorrow. That is, for the sake of the russian dictator’s security, the entire city is being cut off from mobile internet right during the main “economic” event of the year.
kremlin has been investing huge budget resources into the “spief” for years to create an image of a “successful russia,” a stable economy, and an attractive investment climate for foreign guests. Instead, forum guests will see the reality of a country facing the consequences of launching an aggressive war against Ukraine.
