Kremlin is intensifying propaganda among children through history lessons
Starting this September, russian schools will increase the number of history lessons for students in grades 5–7 to three classes per week instead of two. Additionally, a new course, “history of our region,” will be introduced.
At the same time, standardized “non-Eurocentric” textbooks authored by vladimir medinsky — the architect of kremlin’s historical revisionism — will be used in secondary schools.
▫️ For putin’s russia, history has long ceased to be a science; it is now more of a tool for propaganda and promoting state ideology. The school programs focus on glorifying russia’s military aggression, while facts are distorted to justify the crimes of both the soviet and modern regimes.
By implanting the “correct” version of history into children’s minds, kremlin aims to raise an entire generation of loyal subjects to putin’s system. moscow continues to build an authoritarian future for russian children, turning the education system into a factory for so-called “defenders of the fatherland.”
