How russia is revealing its inability to overcome the consequences of the oil spill in the Black Sea

As predicted, new oil discharges are being detected along the coast of russian anapa due to rising temperatures. Petroleum products have been found in seven locations.

New oil slicks appearing nearly three months after the Kerch Strait tanker disaster indicate that the consequences of the spill have not been fully resolved, and the problem persists. While russian authorities claim a “successful cleanup,” the reality tells a different story.

This is yet another example of how russian officials “solve” problems—by pretending everything is fine, which will ultimately harm their own citizens. As contaminated waters continue washing hazardous petroleum products onto the beaches, authorities are sending thousands of children on “rehabilitation trips” to an environmental disaster zone.

The Center has also informed that two months after the disaster, russian dictator vladimir putin stated that the damaged tankers have to be removed from the seabed. So far, no recovery efforts have even begun.
