The Center for Countering Disinformation continues to monitor the russian information space and identify new fakes and manipulations about the events in the kursk region spread by the enemy propaganda.

This week, the CCD recorded another wave of disinformation publications on the following topics:

▫️ “Concentration camps”. rodion miroshnyk, a representative of the russian foreign ministry and a traitor from occupied Luhansk, launched a fake that the Ukrainian military has created concentration camps in the kursk region where they “keep civilians”. Of course, no evidence of the existence of such camps is provided.

▫️ “Hanged children”. A video has appeared in which a russian soldier says that “eight hanged children” were found in a barn in a village in the kursk region. According to him, this was done by “French mercenaries.” Thus, the russians took the legendary fake about the “crucified boy” to a new level.

▫️ “Train shooting”. The enemy propaganda spread the message that Ukrainian soldiers in the kursk region were ordered to shoot a passenger train with machine guns in order to “push russia to officially declare war on Ukraine.”

▫️ “Nazi dagger”. Continuing the theme of “Ukrainian Nazis” in the kursk region, ru-propaganda spread a video in which a russian soldier shows off a trophy dagger with the slogan of SS units.

▫️ “Torture with humanitarian aid”. Enemy propagandists have released several videos, including staged ones, showing residents of the kursk region demonstratively refusing humanitarian aid offered by the “wild” Ukrainian military.

▫️ “Gas attacks”. The story of two elderly women about “shelling attacks with an unknown gas” killing cattle in villages is being spread. The purpose of such actions is not clear from the women’s story.

❗️ By spreading such disinformation messages, russian propagandists are trying to discredit the Ukrainian military and demonize it in the eyes of the russian population, thereby increasing the degree of hatred towards Ukrainians. Representatives of the russian investigative authorities claim that their case on the operation of the Ukrainian military in the kursk region already contains more than 200 volumes. However, it is obvious that these materials are only an anthology of the works of ru-propagandists.
