Occupiers leave Mariupol residents homeless
Occupiers are extensively allocating land plots in Mariupol for mortgage construction by Russian developers, leaving local residents, whose homes were destroyed by the Russian army, with no hope of rebuilding.
▫️ Despite constant claims by Russian propaganda about the rapid reconstruction of housing in Mariupol, the reality is quite different. Damaged homes are being demolished, and new housing is being built in their place—housing that former residents are no longer entitled to. Instead, plans are in place to resettle occupiers brought in from Russia.
Mariupol residents have been forced to record numerous appeals to Russian authorities, pleading for the return of their homes. However, occupiers ignore these pleas, with dozens of such videos circulating online. While promising Mariupol residents a “paradise under Russia,” the occupiers are systematically replacing the city’s population with individuals entirely loyal to the Russian authorities.
Earlier, the Center reported that the occupiers conducted another “inventory” in the occupied Luhansk region, identifying 18,000 hectares of “ownerless” land plots.
