Fake about “renaming” of library in honor of Lindsey Graham
russian propaganda is spreading fake news about the alleged appearance of a “Lindsey Graham Public Library” in Kyiv. As “evidence,” a photo of a sign is being shown, where the name of the poet Anna Akhmatova appears to have been hastily covered with a piece of paper bearing the name of the American senator.
In reality, this is a fake. In the original image from 2019, a digital “sticker” was simply superimposed.
Furthermore, the Kyiv library named after Anna Akhmatova was officially renamed “Suzir’ya” (Constellation) by a decision of the Kyiv City Council in November 2023. No further changes to the name of the institution occurred in July 2026.
Such disinformation aims to support the propaganda myth of “external control” over Ukraine. By exploiting the recent death of an American politician, the enemy is trying to discredit the bilateral relations between Ukraine and the United States.
