Another fake about “booby-trapping the bodies of fallen Ukrainian soldiers”
russian propaganda continues spreading fakes claiming that the Armed Forces of Ukraine allegedly “booby-trap the bodies of their dead” and their personal belongings. In particular, a story circulates from an occupying soldier claiming that russians do not inspect the bodies of fallen Ukrainian soldiers because they are “booby-trapped in 99.9% of cases.”
This is a typical example of an information operation aimed at discrediting the Ukrainian Armed Forces and undermining mobilization. Propagandists provide no photos, videos, or documentary evidence. The only “source” is statements from an anonymous russian serviceman.

Ukraine adheres to international humanitarian law and does not use prohibited methods of warfare. In contrast, russian forces systematically booby-trap civilian objects — homes, hospitals, playgrounds, and even household items and toys. These war crimes have been documented by Ukrainian and international organizations as well as law enforcement agencies.
