Is Iran disappointed with russian air defense?
Even moscow’s allies are losing interest in russian weapons. Davood Sheikhian, deputy for operations of the IRGC Aerospace Force, said that Iran does not need russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems, citing the use of similar S-300 systems already in service with the Iranian military.
However, Israeli attacks on Iranian territory have revealed the S-300’s inability to effectively counter threats. According to Western media, some of these systems were even destroyed during Israeli strikes.
Statements by Iranian officials about their lack of interest in acquiring S-400 systems may signal disappointment with the performance and reliability of russian air defense technology.
