russian propaganda is spreading a fake news, imitating the style of Euronews
▫️ Fake news, designed to resemble a Euronews article, is widely circulating on social media, claiming that Ukrainian children are allegedly being harassed in European schools. The authors of the fake claim that there have been “over 100 such cases in three months” and assert that Ukrainian families are afraid to contact the police due to the “risk of deportation.”
In reality, no such information appears on Euronews’ official platforms and it is not confirmed by any reputable sources. The fake follows a typical pattern: an emotionally sensitive topic, fabricated statistics, a lack of sources, and an appeal to a well-known outlet are used to create the impression that support for Ukraine and Ukrainians abroad is declining.
The goal of this fake is to discredit Ukrainian refugees, create panic among families, undermine trust in European institutions, and shape an image of Europe as an “unsafe space” for Ukrainians, where they allegedly “have no rights.”
