Russia intensifies its “anti-NATO” rhetoric in Moldova

russia is ramping up its information campaign in Moldova ahead of the parliamentary elections. The head of the russian foreign intelligence service, sergey naryshkin, claims that NATO is allegedly prepared to involve Moldova in an armed conflict with russia.

kremlin seeks to amplify divisions within Moldovan society by demonizing Euro-Atlantic integration. They claim that Moldovans will become “pawns” in NATO’s war against russia. To support this campaign, russia is overseeing the activities of so-called opposition parties that are fully pro-russian. Their goal is to prevent Moldova’s Euro-Atlantic integration and return the country to russia’s sphere of influence.

As the parliamentary elections in Moldova approach, the number of information attacks from russia is only expected to increase.

It’s worth noting that the russian foreign intelligence service is also coordinating hybrid attacks against European countries and spreading disinformation abroad. Earlier, the Center prepared an analytical report that analyzed the channels and methods of spreading russian propaganda in Moldova.
