ru-propagandists are facing increasing expulsions from European countries
The correspondent office of the propaganda outlet RIA Novosti in Greece has been forced to shut down after the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs refused to renew accreditation for its “journalist.”
In recent months, Europe has been actively purging russian propagandists, who disguise themselves as journalists while spreading kremlin-friendly narratives, justifying the war, and promoting an alternate reality.
In December last year, Germany banned the operations of Channel One. Last month, French authorities denied visas to two representatives of russia’s Izvestia outlet. Azerbaijan reduced Sputnik’s staff from 40 to just one and announced the closure of “rossotrudnichestvo.” At the same time, Moldova shut down the local branch of “russkiy mir.”
As a result, ru-propagandists will now find it harder to spread lies about Ukraine and glorify russia in Europe.
