ru-fake about “another crime by Ukrainian refugees”
Hostile Telegram channels are spreading a fake video presented as Euronews coverage, claiming that “two Ukrainian refugees” allegedly robbed a jewelry store in Milan.
In reality, no such video exists on Euronews’ official platforms. The material used by russian propagandists actually concerns a robbery at a jewelry store in Richmond, London. There is no information linking Ukrainians or “Ukrainian refugees” to the incident.
Imitating the style and using the name of a reputable media outlet is a typical russian propaganda tactic to give fakes greater credibility.
By creating such fakes, russia systematically conducts an information campaign aimed at discrediting Ukrainian refugees, inciting xenophobia in EU countries, and undermining public support for Ukraine.
The Center has previously reported cases of russian propaganda using fake videos in the name of Western media to discredit Ukraine and Ukrainians abroad.
