Provocation involving the “destruction of Polish flags”: russia continues its destabilization campaign
russia continues its information operation aimed at discrediting Ukraine and destabilizing Ukrainian-Polish relations.
The Center has detected another wave of staged videos depicting the alleged “destruction of Polish flags by Ukrainians,” distributed through russia-controlled Telegram channels. Analysis of the content indicates the use of an established scheme: russian intelligence services likely recruited provocateurs to stage the footage. The actors carefully conceal their faces from the camera while tearing up and trampling on ordinary paper painted in the Polish white-and-red colors.
As in previous waves of this campaign, the videos receive no exposure in Ukraine’s information space and circulate exclusively through russian sources.
The main goal of the enemy is to create a false impression that anti-Polish sentiment is growing in Ukrainian society. In the absence of any real evidence, russia resorts to cheap provocations, fabricating artificial “proof.”
The Center has repeatedly exposed russia’s attempts to influence public opinion in Poland and fuel anti-Ukrainian sentiment in Polish society, including through information resources controlled by russian intelligence services.
