Latvia bans entry for two more Russian propagandists
Due to the war against Ukraine, russia continues to lose opportunities to spread its own propaganda in post-Soviet countries.
▫️The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia has indefinitely banned two putin’s propagandists who supported the war against Ukraine from entering the country — TV presenter katerina andreeva and actor pavel priluchny. Both publicly support russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
kremlin systematically uses culture to promote its propaganda worldwide, with the most active efforts taking place in the former soviet union countries. Since the full-scale invasion began, many countries have taken active measures to limit russia’s ability to carry out such propaganda.
▫️For example, in Azerbaijan and Moldova, the representatives of “rossotrudnichestvo” — an organization that promotes russian propaganda abroad under the guise of cultural exchanges — have ceased their activities. Restrictions on russian propaganda’s access to their citizens are also being implemented in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and other post-soviet states.
