Key statements from Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s meeting with diplomats

Key statements from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s address at the meeting of the heads of Ukraine’s diplomatic missions abroad:

▫️ This winter is a priority that is clear to everyone. The task of diplomats is to secure maximum support on the international stage, in relations with partners, for the Ukrainian government.

▫️ At present, we cannot predict with 100 per cent certainty when diplomatic efforts will bear fruit, or when russia will have no alternative but peace. We will do our utmost to ensure this happens in the autumn.

▫️ We clearly understand that putin hopes to drag this war out further. We see russia’s true intentions, are uniting our partners and putting pressure on the aggressor.

▫️ This week, there will be a special meeting of the National Security and Defence Council to assess whether resilience plans for the regions and our communities are being implemented or not. Those who fail to implement them will be held to account.

▫️ Ukraine has reached a new level of defence cooperation with its key international partners through the Drone Deals initiative.

▫️ Thanks to the Drone Deals format, Ukraine is receiving long – term – annual! – funding for the country and for Ukrainian defence manufacturers. Drone Deals have now been concluded with nine countries, and a further 15 agreements are in the pipeline.

▫️Everyone recognises the ballistic threat posed by russia. At the same time, russian companies that manufacture ballistic missiles are still not subject to strict global sanctions.
