Key points of Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s speech at the summit in Denmark
Key points of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s speech at the plenary session of the European Political Community Summit.
▫Today, Europe is truly facing the threat of drones. Ukraine has experience in shooting down drones due to the war and will not stand aside.
▫Europe needs fast and effective response forces that know how to counter drones efficiently.
▫The PURL program helps not only us; it strengthens the partnership and ties between Europe and the United States.
▫russia has resources to continue the war, and this is unacceptable. A 19th sanctions package against russia is needed. It is necessary to consider how to stop russia’s oil trade and infrastructure, as this fuels their war machine.
▫Even those russian tankers already under sanctions are still being used. This must be stopped.
▫Additional sanctions must be imposed against the shadow fleet’s assets and the owners of the respective companies. Sanctions should also be considered against russian oil terminals and the rest of their mainland infrastructure.
▫We must support the call of U.S. President Donald Trump to stop Europe’s purchase of russian oil. Our colleagues from Hungary must hear this.
▫We must complete the work on security guarantees for Ukraine. All agreements need to be put in writing and every aspect thoroughly worked out. Security guarantees can already work today to support the Ukrainian army.
▫Every European country deserves real security guarantees. Guarantees that work for Ukraine can also work for European states.
▫The elections in Moldova are extremely important — this is a victory for Europe. Now we must move further in supporting Moldova on its path to joining the EU.
