Fake about Polish soldiers allegedly beaten near the border with Ukraine

A fake about the alleged beating of Polish soldiers by “banderites” at the border is being spread on social media. A video with such claims has gained hundreds of thousands of views on TikTok and Facebook. The author of the recording claims that one of the injured Polish soldiers was hospitalized in serious condition.

The Ministry of National Defence of Poland has officially denied this information. They emphasized that no such incident took place.

Such manipulations are part of an information operation aimed at discrediting Ukrainians, provoking anti-Ukrainian sentiments in Poland, and fueling hostility between the two nations. As part of this campaign, the Center also documented other fakes. For example, falsified photos of a form allegedly required for Ukrainians to fill out when crossing the Polish border were circulated. The Center also refuted a fake about alleged harsh measures during the inspection of Ukrainians at the Polish-Ukrainian border.

It should be recalled that after the attack of russian UAVs, an information and psychological operation intensified in the Polish information space, aimed at influencing public opinion about the incident and creating a false impression of Ukraine’s alleged responsibility.
