Fake about “atrocities committed by the AFU”
The propaganda outlet RIA Novosti has once again circulated a 2024 video showing a russian soldier executing his wounded comrade with a shot to the head — falsely presenting it as “atrocities committed by the UAF”.
▫️When this footage, recorded by a Ukrainian drone, first appeared, propaganda media similarly claimed it depicted “atrocities by the Ukrainian army.”
This is a typical tactic of russian propaganda — creating fakes by distorting facts. russian media have repeatedly used footage of war crimes committed by russian troops and falsely attributed them to Ukrainian defenders.
The goal of such disinformation is to discredit the Armed Forces of Ukraine and justify russia’s own crimes.
▫️The publication was later removed — likely following a wave of criticism over the blatant lies and manipulation by the propaganda outlet.
