The fraudsters manipulate currency exchange
🔻 Some exchange offices in Ukraine refuse to accept old-style dollars (1996 or 2001), banknotes with slight wear or damage
🔸 Criminals who exchanged such bills with a 20% commission began to take advantage of this situation, saying that the exchange office would not be able to sell such dollars to the population at the market rate
🔸 Also, the situation was aggravated by the PSYOP, allegedly they will stop accepting obsolete banknotes altogether
❗️Actually, all US dollars issued after 1914 remain tender. The Fed did not introduce restrictions on settlements with such banknotes. They are being phased out, being replaced by newer bills after the old ones end up in US banks
❗️ «In case of refusal to exchange currency on the basis of the year of issue, the National Bank of Ukraine is ready to accept requests from citizens to carry out appropriate checks», said the NBU
