The kremlin fuels anti-Ukrainian sentiment in Polish society
The amount of anti-Ukrainian content in Poland’s information space has increased by 250%, according to Polish officials and researchers.
In particular, ru-propaganda has intensified against the backdrop of the sensitive issue of historical events during World War II, flooding Poland’s information space with anti-Ukrainian content. The kremlin exploited a genuine issue that resonates strongly with Polish society, deliberately exacerbated it, and artificially amplified it through social media bots.
The Center has previously reported on the widespread dissemination of AI-generated anti-Ukrainian content across Poland’s information space. The number of anti-Ukrainian fake stories has also increased. Poles were told about a “Ukrainian missile” and that “Poland would support the Ukrainian Armed Forces for 10 years.”
The dissemination of such narratives is intended to artificially increase tensions in Ukrainian-Polish relations. Recognizing the importance of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Poland, russian propaganda seeks to weaken bilateral ties through disinformation campaigns and information manipulation.
