lavrov’s Report: Ultimatums Instead of Diplomacy
russian foreign minister sergey lavrov’s address to the federation council once again showed that the kremlin is willing to speak only the language of threats and ultimatums, not diplomacy.
▫️ Beyond formal claims of russia’s supposed support for “Trump’s desire for dialogue” and the absence of “any thoughts of war with Europe,” lavrov’s speech was full of threats, intimidation, and accusations against the West.
▫️ He accused Europeans of “animalistic russophobia,” “neo-Nazism,” “blocking the peace process,” and “inciting Ukraine to keep fighting,” while threatening Europe with war over any steps the kremlin considers “hostile.”
▫️ lavrov also repeated propaganda narratives about the “Nazi regime in Kyiv,” the “new world order,” and stated that russia’s foreign policy “is not up for revision,” calling the war against Ukraine “legal and just.”
This once again confirms that russia’s real plan is to continue its aggressive war, and all statements about willingness to negotiate are mere smokescreens and a way to buy time.
