Propaganda of war under the guise of a cultural event
In temporarily occupied Crimea, another pseudo-cultural event, “Tavrida.Art,” took place, which russia presents as “the largest cultural event.”
In reality, this “festival” serves to promote war narratives, legitimize the occupation, and militarize youth.
The event actively pushed the narrative of “art as a form of patriotism” — from presentations of military projects and exhibitions of participants in the so-called “smo” to collecting equipment for russian soldiers.
The goal of such events is not the development of art but the imposition of narratives about the “heroic smo” under a cultural facade.
