Kremlin continues to make it difficult for young people to access education
In russia’s leading universities, the cost of education for technical, physical-mathematical, and IT programs has surged this year by 25–60%. As part of the kremlin’s strategy to tighten control over the higher education system, the russian state duma has also passed a law granting the government the authority to regulate the number of paid and state-funded university seats, as well as to limit opportunities for obtaining education through loans.
▫️At the same time, the authorities are investing in vocational training: for instance, in moscow, the number of state-funded spots in colleges has significantly increased, with every 9th-grade student now guaranteed a free place.
▫️Thus, instead of supporting higher education, russia is redirecting its youth from lecture halls to machine shops and barracks. kremlin is deliberately narrowing access to education for young russians. The priority of the russian government is not individual self-realization, but the elimination of freedom of choice—reducing a person’s life to the formula: “work for the military-industrial complex or serve in the army.”
The total militarization of society, where archaic and obedient youth are left without alternatives — not as the future of the country, but as a resource for war — is a deliberate policy of kremlin.
