With this decision, the current russian government has even surpassed soviet propagandists, who never thought of placing speeches by general secretaries in primers. Now, the russian primer is becoming not just an educational tool, but an instrument of ideological influence.
The primer is perceived as a child’s first book, so it is highly symbolic that kremlin has chosen it to implant propaganda into the minds of russians. This is also another example of how an authoritarian system builds a cult of personality around putin. The main goal of this “reform” is to raise a generation loyal to the putin regime.
