Russians with rare diseases are massively left without vital medicines

In 2024, nearly half of russian patients with orphan (rare) diseases were forced to interrupt their treatment due to a lack of medications.

▫️According to survey results, for a third of them, the interruption lasted more than six months. Particularly vulnerable are children, teenagers, and young adults who lose access to treatment after turning 18 due to bureaucratic barriers.

The main reason is a shortage of medicines caused by sanctions, growing economic isolation, chaos in public procurement, and the rejection of imported drugs.

The fate of his own citizens matters little to kremlin dictator — his top priority is an illusory geopolitical “greatness.” kremlin continues to spend billions on war and propaganda, ignoring the real needs of the people. As long as the war continues, the crisis in russia’s healthcare system will only worsen.
