Charlie Hebdo vs. ru-propaganda: lawsuit over fake covers

The European public continues to expose and counter russian propaganda, which uses fake content to discredit Ukraine and its allies. This time, it concerns the well-known French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, which sought to draw attention to the spread of fake versions of their covers on social media.

▫️ According to the magazine’s editorial team, at least 15 counterfeit covers styled like Charlie Hebdo are known. They were created to portray the publication as a supporter of putin, mock support for Ukraine, and discredit European leaders. All these fakes have one goal — to undermine trust in Ukraine.

▫️ The magazine has filed a lawsuit against X, emphasizing that the fakes are part of a deliberate information attack against Ukraine. The editorial team suspects this activity may be funded by pro-russian groups and aims to identify the creators and sponsors of the counterfeit covers.

Charlie Hebdo takes a clear stance: the magazine does not want its name used in the interests of kremlin propaganda. We thank the editorial team for their integrity and support of the truth!
