How russian students are being forced to go to war against Ukraine

In russian universities, students facing expulsion are being forced to sign contracts with the ministry of defense. In fact, universities in the sverdlovsk region openly admit that these measures are aimed at fulfilling putin’s “assignment” to recruit contract soldiers.

Students who sign contracts are promised an academic leave instead of expulsion, clearance of academic debts, and six months of “rest” which includes medical treatment after completing their military service. This creates grounds for further pressure on students.

Raids, forced detentions of conscripts, and coercion to sign military contracts under threat of expulsion — all these measures reflect the catastrophic state of russian forces in their war of aggression against Ukraine.
