New SMS scam scheme
Scammers have launched a new scheme—sending out mass SMS messages with the text “You have an appointment.”
The message intentionally doesn’t specify what the appointment is for, prompting users to click the link out of curiosity.
If you follow the link, the attackers may gain full access to your phone: personal data, photos, passwords, and banking apps.
Never click suspicious links in SMS messages from unknown senders, do not enter your information on unfamiliar websites, and block the sender of such messages.
