Why ru-propaganda is spreading new lies about Ukraine’s nuclear provocation
Ahead of negotiations between Ukrainian and U.S. delegations in Saudi Arabia, russian propaganda has once again started pushing fake claims about Ukraine allegedly preparing a nuclear provocation.
kremlin propagandists claim that the “Kyiv regime is planning a provocation at the Kursk nuclear power plant.” These statements have no basis in reality—and this is far from the first time russians have spread such disinformation.
The goal of these disinformation efforts ahead of the negotiations is to create the illusion that Ukraine does not actually want peace and is willing to stage provocations to disrupt the talks. In reality, the kremlin is trying to weaken Ukraine’s position before the negotiations and drive a wedge between Kyiv and Washington.
