How Kim Jong Un mirrors Putin’s intimidation tactic with “Oreshnik”
The DPRK announced the launch of a new ballistic missile with Kim Jong Un present.
▫️ This is the first missile launch since November 5, 2024, and it seems to be a response to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s visit to South Korea. After the test, Kim Jong Un claimed that the new missile is hypersonic and capable of evading any missile defense system in the world.
In fact, Kim Jong Un appears to be following the example of Russian President Putin, using intimidation tactics with his own version of the “Oreshnik”, which reportedly has no defense against it. This once again underscores the risks of instability in the Asia-Pacific region due to the growing military ties between Russia and the DPRK.
