Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia “has fulfilled its mission in Syria in due time.” Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova made a series of cautious remarks about ensuring the safety of Russians in Syria, “coordination with international and regional partners on the situation,” and urging the international community to “refrain from provocative rhetoric.”
These messages aim to create the illusion of control over the situation for the Russian population. However, Ukrainian intelligence reports indicate that Russia has already begun withdrawing from Syria.
