Signs of a “fake clickbait”:
the text of the message title may contain the words “shock”, “sensation”, “urgent”;
it causes surprise or indignation;
most often the headline itself does not reflect the text of the message.
The term “clickbait” comes from the English words click + bait.
The purpose of a fake is to get people interested and make them click on a link.
Examples of clickbait fake headlines:
Ukrainians are shocked: The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine gave Hungary a whole district in Zakarpattia!
Scandal in the General Staff! Ukrainian Armed Forces accidentally shelled a residential area of Kharkiv.
Urgent! The United States is afraid to give Ukraine M142 HIMARS MLRS.
