An increase in the number of drone flights near strategic facilities in Germany has been recorded over the past several years, the Bundeswehr Operational Command said.
▫️ The number of drone-related provocations in Germany is already measured in the hundreds and has increased sharply since the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The most high-profile incident occurred recently at a German airport, where a drone carrying explosives was found near a Ukrainian aircraft. US intelligence links the incident to russia.
▫️ The military notes that Germany faces hybrid threats on a daily basis. These include disinformation, fake news, cyberattacks, espionage and sabotage.
Against the backdrop of intensified hybrid provocations by russia, the Center has repeatedly reported numerous violations of the airspace of European countries by russia, as well as predicted an increase in their number.
Countering these threats in order to preserve peace and security in Europe is possible by strengthening international sanctions pressure on russia and providing military support to Ukraine.
