On June 26-30, 1991, the Kurultai of the Crimean Tatar people was held in Simferopol, where the Declaration of National Sovereignty of the Crimean Tatar people was adopted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since 1991. Crimea became an autonomous republic within independent Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2014, the annexation of Crimea by russia took place and the term “reunification” was introduced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today, the vice prime minister of the annexed Crimea, g. muradov, is promoting the idea of “reunification” of the occupied southern territories of Ukraine with russia. According to him, such a step “is the will of the people themselves” who “have lived for 8 years under repression and abuse by the Ukranian Nazis.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
