\u25ab\ufe0f A video allegedly showing an advertisement in Times Square is circulating online. After Volodymyr Zelenskyy\u2019s image with the word \u201cWELCOME\u201d appears on the screen, a black cross and the words \u201cGO HOME!\u201d supposedly appear.<\/p>\n
In fact, the video is fake and was created using video editing. The analysis of the footage revealed clear technical errors. In particular, at the 4-second and 14-second marks, the overlaid image extends beyond the screen. The image also lacks the optical distortions and pixel grid that would be visible when filming a real LED display from such an angle.<\/p>\n
\u25ab\ufe0f The russian origin of the fake is indicated by the fact that the video was distributed through a network of russian propaganda Telegram channels that systematically produce similar disinformation materials about Ukraine.<\/p>\n
This is not the first similar piece of enemy propaganda. During UN General Assembly sessions in previous years, russians have already circulated similar edited videos featuring fake advertisements in Times Square.<\/p>\n
