To divert attention from the holding of pseudo-elections amid military risks, russia\u2019s \u0441entral \u0435lection \u0441ommission announced the introduction of a \u00abspecial procedure\u00bb for voting in the temporarily occupied territories. Under the new rules, voting is allowed in residential courtyards in frontline areas under the pretext of \u00absecurity risks\u00bb.<\/p>\n
Through such rhetoric, the kremlin is trying to legitimise processes taking place under military occupation, coercion and the absence of independent observers. The introduction of \u00abcourtyard voting\u00bb and mobile voting groups also creates ideal conditions for falsifications and inflating the required turnout figures.<\/p>\n
