As \u201cproof,\u201d the authors of the fake cite the security agreement between Ukraine and Poland signed on July 8, 2024. In reality, the document contains no provision requiring Poland to finance the Armed Forces of Ukraine or cover the costs of maintaining them. The agreement establishes a framework for bilateral security and defense cooperation, including military assistance, personnel training, and the development of defense cooperation.<\/p>\n
According to Polish fact-checkers at Demagog, these manipulative claims are being spread primarily through anonymous accounts on Facebook, X, TikTok, and other online platforms. Similar information operations regularly appear in the Polish information space and often bear signs of russian disinformation campaigns.<\/p>\n
Earlier, the Polish General Staff debunked a russian fake claiming that a \u201cUkrainian missile\u201d had fallen on Polish territory. The Polish-language segment of social media has also seen an increase in anti-Ukrainian videos created using AI technologies, which are actively exploited by russian actors.<\/p>\n
