The russian regime has once again intensified its nuclear threats, further demonstrating the kremlin\u2019s complete unwillingness to pursue a diplomatic resolution to its war against Ukraine.<\/p>\n
\u25ab\ufe0f An opinion piece published in the government newspaper “rossiyskaya gazeta” openly advocates the use of tactical nuclear weapons on the battlefield to break through the defenses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In addition, the author calls on russian intelligence services to \u201celiminate\u201d President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. At the same time, russian deputy foreign minister mikhail galuzin stated that moscow and minsk are prepared to use their nuclear arsenal to \u201cdefend the Union State\u201d in response to the alleged \u201cNATO military buildup.\u201d<\/p>\n
The return to aggressive nuclear rhetoric is a consequence of the russian army\u2019s lack of strategic success on the battlefield. Unable to achieve its objectives through military means and having ignored all diplomatic initiatives, the kremlin is once again resorting to its traditional last resort \u2014 nuclear blackmail and intimidation.<\/p>\n
