The Center has recorded the continuation of a coordinated disinformation campaign against Ukraine in the context of the Olympic Games in Italy.<\/p>\n
\u25ab\ufe0f On social media, new fake reports are being circulated, disguised as news segments from foreign media. In particular, it is falsely claimed that the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) allegedly \u201ceased doping controls for the Ukrainian team,\u201d citing \u201cpsychological stress caused by the war\u201d and potential use of sedative medications. These statements are presented as the official position of international sports authorities.<\/p>\n
\u25ab\ufe0f Another fake within this campaign is a fabricated story claiming that the translator of the Ukrainian team in Italy allegedly became the \u201c52nd translator to flee the delegation\u201d in recent months. According to propagandists, after speaking with the press, he \u201cdisappeared,\u201d leaving his phone in the hotel room to prevent it from being tracked.<\/p>\n
\u25ab\ufe0f In reality, both stories are completely falsified. WADA has made no decisions to \u201cease\u201d doping controls for Ukrainian athletes. Likewise, there are no official reports of any \u201ctranslator fleeing\u201d from the Ukrainian delegation.<\/p>\n
\u25ab\ufe0f As in previous cases, these fakes were introduced into the information space via russian Telegram channels and subsequently amplified by a network of propaganda accounts. A characteristic feature of the campaign is the imitation of television segments from Western media, designed to create the illusion of authenticity for fabricated stories. Previously, the Center debunked similar forgeries, including a fake report about the alleged isolated accommodation of Ukrainian athletes during the Olympic Games.<\/p>\n
