A coordinated anti-Ukrainian information campaign using AI technologies, disguised as \u201cdating advertisements,\u201d has been identified in the Polish segment of Facebook. The campaign has drawn the attention of Polish fact-checkers.<\/p>\n
\u25ab\ufe0f Dating groups are being flooded with nearly identical posts allegedly published by young Ukrainian women, including mothers or pregnant women. The posts feature AI-generated images of attractive women, but set against backgrounds of dirt, disorder, or unattended infants. The intent is to provoke a strongly negative emotional reaction among viewers.<\/p>\n
\u25ab\ufe0f The network disseminating these \u201cadvertisements\u201d consists of at least 50 pages and approximately 40 fake profiles. The content is published in series, following a single standardized template.<\/p>\n
\u25ab\ufe0f Notably, the same network also spreads \u201cadvertisements\u201d allegedly from Polish women, likewise generated by AI. However, these images depict clean, aesthetically pleasing interiors and do not provoke aggression. This contrast reinforces the xenophobic effect of the posts featuring fake \u201cUkrainian women.\u201d<\/p>\n
The campaign serves multiple purposes: on the one hand, it artificially boosts reach and redirects traffic to questionable websites; on the other, it systematically fuels anti-Ukrainian narratives within Polish society.<\/p>\n
The Center has also previously documented disinformation campaigns using AI technologies in the Polish information space.
