The fake news creators edited the page code, changing the original headline. In the real statement by Denys Shmyhal, it was about providing Poland with 100,000 tons of Ukrainian coal, not reselling Polish coal. Instead, the ‘Bogdanka’ mine is currently planning to increase its coal sales to Ukraine.

Moreover, Denys Shmyhal is no longer the Prime Minister of Ukraine, which also indicates the fake nature of the news.

The purpose of this lie is to stoke anti-Ukrainian sentiments in Poland, discredit the Ukrainian authorities, and weaken Polish-Ukrainian solidarity in favor of russian interests.

Previously, the Center has already debunked the fake news about the sale of humanitarian Polish generators on Ukrainian marketplaces.

A screenshot of an article is being spread on Polish social media, in which it is claimed that “Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced his readiness to sell coal from the Polish mine ‘Bogdanka’ to Poland”.
